convenient? See what God has to say about this in I John 2:3-6, then ask Him for
the courage to be who you are every day in every place.
TUESDAY Are you quick to point out the faults of others? If so, you’re not alone. We humans have a real issue with this. And Jesus had some things to say about it, too. Check out Mattthew 7:3-5. Jesus tells us that before we start going around pointing out the faults of others, we should take a long, hard look at ourselves. Are we honoring Him in our thoughts, our speech, our actions, our relationships? This little self-examination would be enough to stop most of us in our tracks. After all, none of us have arrived. Why not take a few minutes to examine your life and ask God if there’s an area in particular you need to work on and commit to do it (for HIS glory) today?
WEDNESDAY Some read the account of Jesus’ throwing the money changer’s out of the temple and say, “I thought Jesus was all about love. And what He did there doesn’t seem very loving.” But the Bible does tell us that there are times when it is right for us, as followers of Christ, to get angry about sin. We should be angry at the sin, but loving the person in sin and desiring for them to come to Jesus for forgiveness and relationship with Him. Read Ephesians 4:29-32.
THURSDAY There will be times when it’s right and appropriate for us as Christians to speak out against wrong actions or behaviors, too, especially those that are intentionally destructive to the cause of Christ, as in the case of the money-changers in the temple from this week’s lesson. But it’s important to come with the right
attitude, with heaps of humility, rather than a heart of pride. He wants us to be in constant communication with Him, seeking His leading rather than trying to “fix things” on our own. Read Galatians 6:1-5.
FRIDAY If we really want to know how to live and relate to others, the best thing we can do is look to Jesus. He is our ultimate example—and a constant friend. Remember, He is with you — when you’re accomplishing awesome things for Him AND when you’re making horrible choices that you’ll look back on and regret. He wants to help you through and help you use your experiences to help others, too.
Read Philippians 2:3-5.
SATURDAY So the bottom line is: Let’s be real! Be willing to admit your own weaknesses and faults and willing to be open and humble enough to use those experiences to help others. Remember not to fall into the trap of thinking you’re all that. Just when you do, you’re gonna fall! Trust Jesus and remember it’s only through Jesus that we can ever truly do anything good. Read 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.
